If you’re considering traveling by train in the month of September, you’re going to want to book your tickets now. Starting today (Aug. 16) and ending tomorrow, select routes on Amtrak are 50 percent off for nationwide travel between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30, 2019, with no blackout dates.

This is especially good news if you’d like to take an end-of-summer getaway at the beginning of the month, or want to take advantage of the changing autumn leaves as we get closer to October.

Of course, there’s fine print. The deal is only valid for seats in coach, as well as business class seats on Acela trains, with no upgrades allowed. You also can’t combine it with any other discount offer, and the tickets are non-refundable. You are, however, able to exchange the tickets within their validity period for a 25 percent cancellation fee.
